Valentine's Day

Yesterday was the day of love according to some, but in our house it isn't really a big deal outside of the school party for Rylence. We believe everyday is a good day to show your love and care for someone. Not that a day to remind us is a bad thing we just don't make a big deal out of it. We have bought or made presents for each other before but usually just a small gesture. Well that is how we feel about it now, I don't know that we started out feeling that way. Anyway, this year we had a nice dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants that we have not been to in a while, Cool Beans. It was a nice get away for just us without cooking. Then we ventured across the street to Marble Slab Creamery... always a yummy trip. Then we ended the night by watching the new Die Hard movie, A Good Day to Die Hard. Nothing says romance like a good action flick! :) It was a great night and I am so very blessed to be spending my life with that man!
On another note my mother fell about three weeks ago and broke her fibula near her ankle. She ended up needing surgery and a plate to reset the break. It took an extra four days for them to get her blood sugar back down so that they could perform surgery. It has been fluctuating really high off and on for over a year now and is probably part of the reason she broke a bone when she fell. She has been moved to a rehab facility to help with the healing and gaining strength back before she returns home. She is doing well but wants to be home badly. And I know she will be there shortly with how stubborn she can be.  I hope that this may have been enough of a wake up call to help her realize how serious her health is and how serious she needs to be about controlling her blood sugar and diet. That way we can enjoy many more long years of annoying each other! :) I love you mom!
Well back to studying for my next test! :) Which btw my first one of critical care went great, hoping to follow that with a great Peds test! I also have all four of my pediatric clinicals next week so wish me luck! Can't wait to work with kids! Still thinking Pediatric Oncology or Neonatal is my calling. Have a great weekend everyone.

XoXo
