Too Fast or Too Slow?
Time is passing too quickly some days and not quick enough on others. For instance, school is fascinating but I can't wait to be done and starting my career, but I understand I need all the experience I can get before diving into the real world as well. I am also super excited for May because of the Guatemala trip. Which we could use some help with supplies and funding if you know anyone who can donate or can help out yourself. :) Just contact me and we will get the ball rolling. (I will add a suggested supply list needed at the bottom of this post.) There is also the boat races this July which we always love and just sweet summertime in general. Mostly it is due to school and wanting to start that rewarding career and being able to change lives. Plus I miss being able to spend more time with my own family (not just my nursing family, not that I don't love them too! :) )
On the other hand time is definitely against me. Rylence will turn 6 this Saturday!! I don't know where the time has gone but I cannot believe we are already here! He has grown so much and is becoming such a handsome young man that I am excited to see where he goes and who he is as he learns and navigates life but I am also appalled that he is already 6 and I may not have given him everything he needs to succeed. I know he is intelligent and I am trying to instill a love for learning and reading in him but his personality and respect are what matters as learning is a trait one can pick up but who you are is instilled in you and much harder to change. I know I am worried because I am new at this and that most will say it means I should have nothing to worry about... If I care then it is probably already happening, but is it?
He has been dealing with a lot of anger it seems for the past couple months and it has shown at school as well. He was being disrespectful, rude, mean, and flat out disregarding the rules. He hit anther child and made faces at you or laughed when being disciplined. I understand that all children, especially boys, go through phases like these but he just started all of a sudden and it was mainly at school towards the teacher and other students. Which is not much like him. I do believe we have started getting back into the routine of things with mommy and are trying out some new rules and consequences. This seems to be helping tremendously! Maybe it was an outbreak and rebellion because mommy was always gone and therefore daddy had to pick up mom's slack and Rylence wasn't getting as much attention as he needed? Matthew and I are hoping that's what it was since he has been improving the last few weeks and has had a phenomenal week so far this week. But it still scares me to think I may be setting him up for failure not success. But that's just part of being a mom I guess!
Back to the passing of time, Matthew ad I will turn 26 this year and will have been married for 6 years in August! Another milestone I cannot believe is real. We have done so much in the last six years, our little family. Rylence has completed pre-school and is now finishing kindergarten. Matthew has changed jobs a couple times (Always for the better), and I started school and am less than a year from finishing. We have also been living in Murfreesboro for two years now and love it! I believe it has helped us grow more and has given us the ability to believe in ourselves and that we can do and handle anything. While it has been fast, I am very excited to see what the future holds for our small family. Maybe bigger cities, new states, or simple stay here and start a new chapter. Any way we go I know we will succeed because we have each other. (but I am secretly hoping it's at least a bigger city if not a new state!) :)
I believe I have babbled enough this time and need to get ready for school now. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
XOXO
