Fast Forward

Now that all of the life change and growth talk is out of my system (well for now...) I can catch everyone up on the happenings in our sweet family!

End of 2017- I started Graduate school for my MSN in Leadership this month. We ventured to Washington, D.C. for a week! It was a dream of Andru's and ended up being such an experience for us all! If you have ever been to D.C. then you know we didn't see but half of it or less in a week and need to go back, but it was wonderful. We went to most of the Smithsonian museums, the bureau of engraving and printing, all the monuments, and many wonderful restaurants. Oh and the Capitol!! We didn't make the White house on this trip but Andru did get to see Lincoln's top hat and the Ford Theatre where he was shot plus the house he died in. We loved it and can't wait for a return visit after some other adventures.
The remainder of 2017 was not as eventful but we did have a great New Year's party at my brother's house with family and new friends Melanie and Brady Goebel.
January-April 2018- This was a busy beginning of the year. My Father and his girlfriend moved into our home in order to delete their debts and be able to start fresh somewhere new once done. Family also came to visit this month. During all these transitions an old dream of a larger house came creeping back into the picture. God had placed a vision of a larger house to host people and church functions about a year prior to this but it wasn't the right timing nor did either Matthew or I feel we wanted to leave our house. So we began praying over this vision. I began my new job as Nurse Navigator for the Hemophilia Treatment Center at UK. I am in the same office but with more responsibility and a new population. It was also a wonderful opportunity that God presented even when I thought it wasn't what I wanted. Andru turned 11 in February! Wow, time keeps marching on around us. and then as we moved into March it was evident that God's plan was for us to sell our house and move to another one. We started exploring the different sizes of houses available to us and our budget. In this process we found a realtor that understood that we were unsure of this journey but having faith in God and his timing, so we were leaping. He helped guide us through the process and prayed with us on our journey. Over time God revealed the best mortgage broker for us and then presented our current house. It was a journey of faith and trust and has taught us so much about how God speaks to us and leads us in this life. During this month with much prayer and discernment I decided to put graduate school on hold. It was a relief and for now what I feel is part of the plan.
May 2018- We have the best church family and friends. With these amazing people we were moved out of our old house with time to clean overnight and a place to stay with a wonderful meal and then moved into our new house the next day. It was a whirlwind of stress, love, pain (lots of lifting and stairs), and boxes. My dad and his girlfriend rolled with the punches and made it all work as well. Looking back I can't believe all the crazy timing of things! God is so good. This month also brought the start of my new business adventure. I am now an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay cosmetics. It has provided opportunities for growth and new friendships. I am growing as a person while I have the chance to love and empower other women.
June & July 2018- Many work trips and my first MK seminar happened this summer. Andru attended boy scout camp as well.
August 2018- 11 years of marriage, a Niagara Falls, NY anniversary trip and Andru starting 6th grade! Middle school has been so far interesting but good for him. He truthfully loves being in youth group the most now.

Our life doesn't slow down but we also wouldn't have it any other way. God has revealed so much to us and been so faithful throughout our journey. We have learned to trust in him and rely on each other. Constant building and growth is the only way to continue to seek God and hold tight to our family. We are excited to see what these next few months hold as we prepare for another wonderful year in 2019.
