A year in review

Wow. It's already time to start another set of goals to accomplish for the year and trying to retrain yourself on writing the date. Before we start making plans and goals this year we decided to recap some of the major, important, and significant events of the past year for our little family. In order to endure such a task one needs fuel, so we made homemade cinnamon rolls. Yum! Now with our yummy treat in hand we began rehashing the many times in the last year that stood out to us.
We began the year like many others for us with a trip to Indianapolis to see Monster Jam, we also had the chance to meet up with one of the interpreters I met in Guatemala, Adam. It was a great start to the year. Then we celebrated our little man turning 8! Matthew turned 28 next and we made an offer on our house in March as well. April brought us to the new house and the loss of my dear uncle Dan (love you!). May was full of painting and moving while I transitioned into the NICU at work. June my mother moved in. July my brother's family moved into a camper on our property. August we saw 8 years of marriage and Andru (Rylence has now decided to be called by his middle name) started the third grade. Andru also started attending Karate classes with his cousin A.J. In September one of the sweetest couples I know said their vows (Emily and Elliot). October I turned 28 and My brother moved into his new home! Andru earned his orange belt in Karate. Mom's health started becoming more unstable and in November she was admitted to the hospital yet again. Andru has now obtained his yellow belt! Thanksgiving was short but nice with family even though I worked through it. December my wonderful mother-in-law came to visit and my mother started dialysis. Christmas was wonderful even though I worked on the actual holiday we celebrated early. my mom had to spend Christmas and New Year's in the hospital still. I am hoping she can gain some strength back and be able to start this year in a better place with her health. It has been stressful holiday season and emotional without her.
It has been another exciting, emotional, whirlwind of a year for our little family but with all the blessings we have we are thankful. We are currently making out a goal jar for this coming year and hopeful about what we will accomplish. I hope this new year has greeted all of you with the presence of loved ones and making new memories. Just remember to enjoy the time you have and the loved ones around you, life's to short to be hung up on resolutions.

XoXo
