Where for art thou Summer?

Wow, It always amazes me how quickly time can get away from us. There has been a lot of change in the Motz house since April. The following week after finalizing on the house our family was devastated with the lose of my uncle Dan Brandon. He had a massive heart attack at work. He was an anchor for my mother's side of the family and will be forever missed by all who knew him. I could never give a truly fitting eulogy so I will simply say I love and miss you Uncle Dan! Needless to say it was a rough couple of weeks after we bought the house.
During the month of May we were able to slowly finish painting and move our stuff into our first home. it was interesting staying between the two places, working (transferring to the NICU), painting, unpacking, and settling in. Unfortunately we were unable to take our time moving in because my mother was met with a deadline to have herself moved from her apartment. We were able to pack and move her (not with any finesse) to Richmond successfully in a few days at the beginning of June. From there we spent most of June trying to unpack her stuff and downsize her belongings. It was a long and tedious project but she did amazing work and is almost settled in now.
During that time My brother and his family did find a house and made an offer but due to some undisclosed issues it ended up not being the best fit for them. However, that sent them into a bit of a time crunch for being able to move here and settle into some semblance of a routine before school started for my nephew. It finally came down to renting or buying a camper and staying on our land until they found their next residence. So during July we moved them onto the concrete pad beside our house, or as we like to say 381.5 haha. Just this week the did find a gorgeous house 10 minutes down the road that they put an offer on and was accepted. So in October they will be homeowners again!! We are really excited for them and can't wait to invade their new space (mostly a joke, but it is better suited for family gatherings- wink, wink).
Now onto August- Rylence started at his new school and has made friends with a couple neighbor children. He really enjoys the space and the local park and walking track. He has also transferred cub scout troops and started martial arts. It has been busy as ever but it is nice to have somewhere to call home. We have been able to complete a few home projects which I will be working on posts for over the next few weeks. For now I figured I would start with some before and after shots. This was not the first room we painted (I believe it was close to the last) but it is the main one we use. Our living room before and after a coat of Allen + Roth Day at The Jewelers by Valspar. It's a beautiful color and we like how it changes with the different times of the day. And Ry was such a big help during all the painting, he is very focused as you can see. :) Until next time!

XoXo

I love the determination.
