Happy New Year!

Well I am way behind! LoL. So many things to update on! Anyway, Happy New Year Everyone!! We had a wonderful Christmas break. Matthew had over a week off so we were able to spend that time in Ohio with his side of the family. It was a great visit but as always never long enough. After we arrived back in Tennessee we had an invitation to go to Tunica for New Years. For those who do not know Tunica is an area of Mississippi where lots of casinos are located close to each other. Matthew and I had never been to a casino before so it was a new and exciting experience for us. I only wish my SIL had been able to join my brother, then it would have been awesome!! :) Maybe after I get a real job we can! Not much has happened at the Motz house since we came home from the trip. My oldest niece turned 18 on the 8th of January which is hard to believe! But we all grow up I guess. Happy Birthday baby girl! Love ya!!
I did start my fourth semester of nursing  school on the 17th. So far it is intense and a bit intimidating but it is critical care nursing so I have to be on my A game. I am thoroughly excited about my Pediatric rotation as well! But there is a lot happening this semester for me so I have to really buckle down. I am planning to attend a convention for the National Student Nurses Association. There will be lots of Job opportunities to learn about as well as seminar's on practice. I am also looking into a possible intern/externship during the semester or in the summer (one which may be out of state). So much happening.. starting to feel the seasons change and my new career come to life! Very exciting and scary all at once!!
The last big announcement I have to make is that I will be attending a medical mission trip to Los Robles, Guatemala in May!!! I am ecstatic to have this opportunity to help those in need and extend my knowledge. The trip will be from May 18th to May 26th, with 13 students attending along with the program coordinator and two NP's. We will be providing some basic care to the community of Los Robles as well as health education. The program opens a medical clinic that was built in 2010 while we are there and lets the local people know when we are available. We are in need of some help to be able to provide needed supplies and services to the locals. We do have some fundraiser's in the work but the more supplies or funds donated the more service we are able to provide. So even if you can't donate, spreading the word is just as helpful and appreciated! :) You can donate through the website or contact me directly if you need more information. There is more info in the attached flyer. I can also e-mail the flyer and other information to anyone interested.
And now I am going to return to studying for class. Hope you all have a great week!

xoxo
